Parsons Spring Trail features a majestic, clear creek flowing from a natural spring located at the end of a canyon layered with red rocks. There is an abundance of tall trees providing a canopy of shade along the well-marked trail as well as clusters of cottonwood and mesquite trees that grow over the trail, resembling doorways.
The 4-mile hike to Parsons Springs is filled with lush green plant life, turquoise and emerald colored water that is so crystal clear, you can see the fish and the crawdads from the edge of the banks. There are plenty of lizards scurrying alongside the trail and birds singing in the trees. At a few points along the path are what appears to be ancient native American ruins. Wild blackberry bushes line many parts of the trail, so plentiful in some parts the ground beneath is not even visible.
There are multiple creek crossings so it is recommended to bring water shoes. It is also recommended to bring a bathing suit as well because this is a great place to swim, snorkel and cliff jump. Bring plenty of water, at least 1 liter of water for every 2 hours of hiking. Bringing sunscreen, a hat, and a towel are also suggested. Activities: Hiking, camping (not within 3 miles of the trail), horseback riding, snorkeling, cliff jumping, wild blackberry picking, natural spring viewing
