Schnebly Hill Road is a thick, forested area that is on top of a mountain settled in between Sedona and Munds Park. It is a great place to enjoy camping out in nature. With it being dispersed camping, meaning camping outside of a designated campground, an individual, family or group of friends can find a private retreat to pitch a tent anywhere out in this wilderness.
Many mornings your alarm clock is the sound of wild cows mooing close by. A pretty well paved dirt road can be accessed from the Flagstaff side off of the I-17 or the dispersed camping on top of Schnebly Hill can be accessed from an 11.8-mile rough, rocky OHV route rocky from Sedona. This off-road vehicle trail is thrilling and one can easily stop along the way to capture spectacular views of the red rocks of Sedona. However, this trail is also extremely difficult terrain and should only be attempted in a truck or off-road vehicle with a good amount of clearance.
The views from Schnebly Hill Vista overlooking all of Sedona are a must see, especially during sunset when the burnt orange sky matches the colors of the red rock formations. You can also get to Schnebly Hill Vista to see these wonderful views without an off-road vehicle if taken from the I-17 side. Activities include: Camping, OHV Route, hiking, sunset viewing
